“Toiyabe” is an ancient Shoshone word meaning “mountain.” The Toiyabe National Forest, located in Nevada and Northern California, is part of the largest forest in the lower 48 states.
My first Ridgeback, "Bezi", and I would spend hours hiking throughout the Toiyabe. She loved it. The picture on the left is of Bezi and her little buddy "Emma" on the Thomas Creek trail in the Toiyabe National Forest near Reno, Nevada.
